Why the heat is beneficial
A heated practice when compared to a non-heated class has many extra therapeutic benefits
Practicing in a heated room with adequate humidity gets your heart pumping and helps train for a healthier heart and lung. Together with proper breathing technique, the increased blood flow and exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body helps nourish the deep tissues, muscles, glands and organs resulting in significant improvement of the entire cardiovascular, nervous and immune system.
You will sweat a lot and feel energized and rejuvenated after every class! The concentration required to get through a hot class will translate to your everyday life and allow you to complete tasks with increased ease.
Our hottest practice yet is the Hot Yoga while most of our other classes adopt continuous movement pattern that require less heat, with the exception of Yin Yoga practice, which is performed in a comfortable room temperature.
Bear in mind that seasonal changes in the weather may affect our bodies and the environment surrounding us, and this may possibly affect how the body reacts to heat and humidity.
Some of the therapeutic benefits of practicing Hot Yoga:
- Improved flexibility
- Stronger and denser bone mass
- Improved cardiovascular fitness.
- Improved mental health, reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety
- Improved skin health.
- Improved glucose regulation which may benefit people with type 2 diabetes
- Improved stress management through practice of mind body awareness
- Detoxification by sweating a lot.
- Improved joint health.
